Java FX is a new extension to the Java platform that gives developers a consistent experience for building rich web/desktop applications all the way down to to handheld device applications.


JavaFX comprises a comprehensive set of runtime environments, widgets, development tools, and scripting environments.This technology was announced at the 2007 JavaOne Conference.


The technology is realised in two separate products::

  • JavaFX Script
  • JavaFX Mobile
