I'll check the project, to see if I can tweak it a bit... so that a full images usages would also be possible :)
[[User:Depechie|Depechie]] ([[User talk:Depechie|talk]]) 11:39, 17 September 2013 (EEST)

SB Dev - Great information

I really like this article. One question though: most people will not be using XAML-defined icons in their Apps but rather high resolution bitmap images in various formats (PNG, JPEG) as those are more freely available and many graphics designers don't know how to convert their assets to a XAML format. I believe it would be a great addition showing how images could be used in a similar fashion.

You are true by stating that many users will opt for the image approach! But to be honest, it's actually better to use xaml because this will give you full resolution independent images.

The way to go is from image transform to SVG and than to XAML.

Other reason why we need the XAML, because of the use of the FILL property inside the listbox item states. If we don't use this, we need to change images all the time for representing a selected one and a unselected one. ( resulting in more images needed in the app )

SB Dev -

Yes, I agree that it is the technically superior approach but it won't be viable in all situations and for all developers, which is the reason I brought it up.

So I totally agree that the best way to solve this is using vector graphics but to show the alternate route as well would, in my opinion, help lots of people. It's just a suggestion though.

I'll check the project, to see if I can tweak it a bit... so that a full images usages would also be possible :)
