Using Telerik UI for Android

This article explains how to use Telerik for Android UI components

Telerik just release beta version of UI for Android, it will help us as Nokia X developer to create better chart (for this beta version, the component only chart


This component has some key features:

  • Predefined Styles and Palettes
  • Ultimate Performance
  • Transparent Roadmap
  • Familiar and Easy to Use API
  • Fast and Precise Pan and Zoom


I'll explain what I've done when trial this component:

  1. Download the component
  2. Integration with IDE (Eclipse / Android Studio)
  3. Create example Project

Download the component

Go to Telerik Android UI to download the component, please remember that you have to sign in or create an account before you can download the component

Integration with IDE

This section will explain how to use the component with Eclipse and Android Studio, but first of all, extract the downloaded component to C:\Program Files (x86)\Telerik\Telerik_UI_for_Android_2014_1_0226_BETA, but it's depend on you.


This section will explain how to use Android UI with Eclipse.

  1. Create New Project
  2. Choose Android Project from Existing Code
  3. Select C:\Program Files (x86)\Telerik\Telerik_UI_for_Android_2014_1_0226_BETA\Controls\Eclipse

  1. On your Package Explorer will show Eclipse, right click, Properties

  1. Choose Android on your left side, then choose Nokia X system on Project Build target, please make sure is Library is checked also


  1. If you got error like picture below:


  1. Right click again on Eclipse -> Properties -> Java Compiler choose 1.6 on Compiler compliance level


  1. After loading Telerik Android UI project, now create New Android Project
