Description

The StartViewFinderDirectL function of the CCamera API does not work as expected. Video frames are not drawn on the screen directly.

How to reproduce

After constructing the CCamera object either from NewL or New2L, get the TCameraInfo data using the CameraInfo API of CCamera.

 TCameraInfo cameraInfo;
iCamera->CameraInfo(cameraInfo);
if (cameraInfo.iOptionsSupported &TCameraInfo::EViewFinderDirectSupported)
{//Direct Access is supported
}
else
{//Direct Access is not supported
}

Some devices claim that the direct viewfinder is supported. However, using the StartViewFinderDirectL function results in a blank viewfinder area to be displayed.

Solution

Currently this is a limitation of CCamera API. The direct screen access for camera viewfinder is not available for 3rd party applications.
