Remote Device Access
Important Notice: Remote Device Access will be ramped down effective 12 August 2014 for all app testing, including Nokia X, Asha, Series 40 and Windows Phone.
We recommend using the Windows Phone Emulator for Windows Phone 8 for debugging and testing your apps. Also be sure to visit the Windows Dev Center for the latest on developing universal Windows apps for smartphones and other devices.
Remote Device Access (RDA) is a service that allows developers to test their mobile applications and services remotely on various Nokia devices based on Windows Phone, Nokia X, Asha, Series 40, and more.
The main features of the service are:
- remotely controlling a device,
- installing and running applications,
- transferring files,
- and analyzing log files in real-time.
RDA is an Internet-based service, and the basic requirements for using the service are a Nokia Developer website user account, a standard Web browser, and Java Web Start (comes typically with JRE; version 5.0 or newer is required).
NOTE! Usage is free of charge for all Nokia Developer members.
