Nokia Insights Report — Marketing Beyond the App Store
Months of hard graft come to an end and the developer can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Their latest app is now live on the app store and they are ready to tell the whole universe how great it is. But the problem is that no matter how loud the developer shouts and how many people they try to reach, it feels as though nobody is listening. And with just one app struggling to stand out against the other 849,999, perhaps nobody is. At this point, disillusion can easily set in and many developers end up wondering if it was really worth taking the time to develop their app in the first place.
This situation is all too common in the mobile apps space. Developers do not necessarily possess professional marketing skills and are by default forced to rely on their app store and word of mouth to help spread their message – neither of which is the ideal solution. However it is not all doom and gloom. In fact, developers have more avenues open to them than many may think.
